Building an app is not just coding. Successful apps follow a clear process that keeps cost under control and makes sure people actually use the app. Here is the process we follow with every client, explained without jargon.
Step 1: Define the Problem and Users
Write one sentence: who will use the app and what problem it solves for them. For example: "Our dealers should place repeat orders in 30 seconds without calling the office."
Step 2: List Version-One Features
Separate must-have features from nice-to-have ones. Launching a focused first version faster and improving it with real feedback is cheaper than building everything at once.
Step 3: Choose Platforms and Technology
Most Indian businesses start with Android or with both platforms using Flutter. You also need a backend (server and database) and usually an admin panel.
Step 4: Design the Screens (UI/UX)
A designer creates the screens and a clickable prototype. Approving this before coding avoids expensive changes later.
Step 5: Development
The app, backend APIs and admin panel are built in milestones, with a demo build you can install every week or two.
Step 6: Testing
Test on real phones – including low-cost Android devices – for crashes, slow screens, payments and edge cases like weak internet.
Step 7: Launch on Play Store and App Store
Prepare the listing, screenshots, privacy policy and store accounts in your company name. Google Play needs a one-time USD 25 account; Apple needs USD 99 per year.
Step 8: Marketing and Maintenance
Promote the app to existing customers first, track usage, fix issues and update for new Android and iOS versions every year.
Common Mistakes That Waste Money
- Building too many features in version one
- No admin panel to manage content and orders
- Source code or store accounts in the developer's name
- No budget for maintenance after launch
